What's On In Town

12 March 08 - 09:33Sugaring-Off in Quebec

Montrealplus.ca has just issued a great list of places to 'sugar-off' this season.  Take a look at the area you wish to visit and find out what activities they offer.  Each one will be a little different from the next, but there's always one thing they have in common - MAPLE SYRUP - yummy!!

01 February 08 - 17:28Butterflies Go Free - Insectarium

I get so excited when I see an ad for "Butterflies Go Free" at the Botanical Gardens!  They're coming back - between 21st February and 27th April.  The kids are absolutely mesmorised by the myriad of colours flying in front of their faces - if they wear something brightly coloured, it will attract the butterflies to them as if they were a flower!  Take your camera and get there early to avoid the crowds.  This year's stars are the African Butterflies!

11 January 08 - 08:54La Fête des Neiges de Montréal - EVENT CANCELLED

It's almost that time of year again for the Fête des Neiges at Parc Jean-Drapeau!!  I took my kids to this event last year and they absolutely loved it!  This year, it runs from 26th January to 10th February 2008.  Entry is free, but parking costs around $10.  Get there early if you take the car - the car park is immense and it fills up fast!  A better idea would be to take the metro - the station doors lead you directly into the Fête.  Some rides cost money, but most stuff is free and there are also sponsors giving out freebies to eat and drink - it's great fun!

23 June 06 - 11:14Economuseums in Montreal and Surroundings

Here's a fun way to find out "how they do that".  Economuseums are not just museums.  Tradespeople work from these locations and show the public the skill involved in making such items as glass jars and vases, violins, and clothing.  Well worth a visit if you're looking for an indoor activity.  Some places require reservations.
